Rural Cortijo in Almeria, located in the Sierra of Filabres, concretely in the smallest village of Almeria, Laroya. With more than 200 years it is located in the middle of a property of 23 hectares of ecological culture, olive trees and almond trees. This part of the house was constructed on the cortijo 70 years ago by a rich marble worker of the neighboring village of Macael, to enjoy its favorite sport, the hunting of partridge. It has marble grounds and high doors, unlike the humble style that predominates in the constructions of the village.
It has 4 rural houses with capacity for 2, 4 and 6 people, a total of 20 places. The Cortijo was recovered for its use like rural house in 2001. |

The Sierra of Filabres is the main mountainous bulk of the province of Almeria and forms the South limit of the Valley of the Almanzora. It has a length of 50 km and one width of 25 km, with a total surface of 150,000 has.
The average altitude of the complex is 1,500 meters. We can emphasize heights superior to the 2,000 meters like Calar Alto (2168 ms), Tetica de Bacares (2080 ms) or Calar del Gallinero (2049 m).
In Calar Alto the is located the Hispanic-German Astronomical Complex, in collaboration with the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia.
